Is summer ever gonna get here?  Air temps ranged from 48 to 58 degrees, water temps averaged 60 and the wind blew steadily 10 to 15 mph all day. For our 4th open of 2011, we had a 18 boats show up to take on Falls. Dale Bolick & Johnny Ellis of Wendell won with 5 bass weighing 20.83 lbs. The most popular lure for the day seemed to be plastics, c-rigs, t-rigs & trick worms. 58 bass were weighed in totalling 176 pounds with no dead fish. Story of the day: Bass were caught on mostly plastics, but spinnerbaits and crankbaits in 2 to 8 feet of water off main creek points with rock & timber cover also did the job.

The next tournament will be at Kerr Lake on April 16th out of Flemingtown Landing Wildlife ramp. This event will be the 4th in a series of 7 qualifying tournaments for the ‘Piedmont Bass Classics $5,000 Bass Tournament Trail’. I hope to see all of you on the 16th at Kerr!
