MLF Announces 2027 Abu Garcia High School Fishing Presented by Tackle Warehouse Schedule

Five regular-season event slate runs January through October with World Finals & National Championship returning to Lake Hartwell

BENTON, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2026) – Major League Fishing (MLF) announced today the 2027 schedule for the Abu Garcia High School Fishing Presented by Tackle Warehouse circuit, featuring five regular-season tournaments across four states, along with the High School Fishing World Finals and Abu Garcia High School Fishing Presented by Tackle Warehouse National Championship in partnership with The Bass Federation.

The 2027 Abu Garcia High School Fishing season kicks off Jan. 15 at the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes in Kissimmee, Florida, hosted by Experience Kissimmee, and concludes Oct. 23 at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, South Carolina, hosted by Visit Anderson . Along the way, high school anglers will compete on Lay Lake in Alabama, Kentucky-Barkley Lake in Kentucky and Pickwick Lake in Alabama, with each event providing an opportunity to qualify for the national championship.

The 2027 High School Fishing World Finals and Abu Garcia High School Fishing Presented by Tackle Warehouse National Championship will be held June 23-25 at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, South Carolina. The top 10% of teams from each qualifying regular-season tournament held between May 3, 2026, and May 1, 2027, will earn a berth in the championship, giving student anglers from across the country the opportunity to compete on the national stage.

“High School Fishing continues to provide young anglers with an opportunity to compete, develop their skills and build relationships that can help them take the next step in the sport,” said Kevin Hunt, MLF Senior Director of Tournament Operations. “One of the things we really value about this program is holding these events alongside Columbia PFG College Fishing tournaments. It gives high school anglers and their families a chance to meet college anglers and coaches, learn more about collegiate fishing opportunities and see firsthand where this sport can take them. We’re excited about the fisheries on the 2027 schedule and look forward to another great season.”

Abu Garcia High School Fishing Opens are two-person team events for students in grades 7-12 and are open to any Student Angler Federation-affiliated high school club in the United States.

Registration for the 2027 Abu Garcia High School Fishing circuit opens Nov. 9, 2026, at MajorLeagueFishing.com or by calling 270.252.1000.
