TBF of SC SANTEE Results!!

Big Bass & Big Winds at Santee

The Bass Federation of South Carolina held it’s 3rd points tournament of the year at Santee Cooper this past Saturday April 2nd.   Santee has been hot with many tournaments won with limits of 30 lbs. or so. Most of the TBF anglers were anticipating the same type of day .  They were greeted however with winds gusting over 30 miles per hour and

anyone that fishes this lake knows how treacherous it can be.

This changed many game plans keeping many away from the areas they would have liked to fish. Santee still gave up some nice bass though with the big story mainly among the co/anglers.  Two of our younger anglers have recently moved up from the TBF Juniors program and showed they know how to get it done, out fishing their older counterparts.

Co/angler Shane Cantley of Camden brought in the heaviest bag of the day. His 4 largemouth weighed in at 16.67 lbs to take 1st place in his division. His big fish was 5.04 lbs. this earned Shane a check for $577.  In second also just having joined us from the Juniors is DJ McEachern with 3 bass for a weight of 10.72 lbs. and big bass of the day at 6.16 lbs. DJ received $346 and $128 for his big fish.  Third place co/angler was Nate Nienhius of Lexington at 10.05 lbs. and $230 for his efforts.Co-Angler Champion Shane Cantley

The boaters also brought in some nice bass although there were no 5 bass limits at all.

1st place honor went to Robert Rikard of Lexington with 3 bass weighing in at 11.89 lbs.

Roberts largest was 5.78 lbs. 1st place paid out $961 .  Finishing 2nd was Bernie Dreher

With 4 bass weighing 11.16 lbs. and earning Bernie $577.   Buddy Walden, owner of Buddies Marine Service  would come in 3rd  with 11.12 lbs. and earning him his first check with TBF of $385. Way to go Buddy.    Big bass in the Boater division went to Rich Gerken of Prosperity with a 6.20 lb largemouth and a check for $213.
