On a spectacular last weekend of October, Tom’s Marine TT held its annual Classic with a 2 day event starting out on Douglas Lake Sat and concluding on Cherokee lake Sun. Blue bird skies and mid 70’s temps made the fishing more than a little challenging, but the quality fish that were caught were fantastic. For those that don’t know, Douglas and Cherokee have some of the best Smallmouth in the land (pics below). When your champions weigh-in 5 fish and 4 are large smallmouth, this is not your normal bass fishery. Paul Napier and Clifford Bunch hauled in 13+ on Sat and came back with a 14+ LB bag Sunday on Cherokee for a 27.66 Lb Total with some of the prettiest 4+ Lb Smallmouth you’ve ever seen. They took home a $40,000 Ranger Z119C with a 200 HP Mercury VS for their efforts! Coming in 2nd and only 1/4 Lb behind was Guy Siler and Brian Holt with 27.36, so there was no margin for error! Next year will bring the Tenn Team Trail with a combination of 3 dealers and more lakes. Great job by all look fwd to 2015!!
