54 teams showed up at Falls for the 5th qualifying tournament of the Boats Unlimited~Piedmont Bass Classics
2012 Spring Bass Tournament Trail.

The weather was weird! 57 degrees in the morning with 3 mile an hour
winds, and still 57 degrees in the pm with 10 to 15 mph winds and the water level was about a foot above
normal. We had a great weighin and I want to thank everyone that participated!
168 fish were weighed in for a nice total weight of 522 pounds and all the bass looked very healthy. Most fish
were caught in 1 to 2 feet of water on a variety of baits including jerk baits,spinnerbaits, plastic worms,
crankbaits, buzzbaits and Rat-L-Traps for the most part. The hot baits for the day reported to be plastics and
spinner baits! Water temps were around 68 degrees. I want to thank all the anglers that participated and that
support this trail. Also, we have the greatest sponsors supporting our trail!
Our next ‘Boats Unlimited $10,000 Spring Bass Trail’ event will be Saturday, May 19th, at Jordan Lake.
Our next ‘Special Open’ Tournament will be the ‘Overton’s of Raleigh Open’ at Falls Lake Saturday, May 5th.
