Welcome to the White Classic!
AnglersChannel.com is on location in Tulsa, OK for the 43rd Bassmaster Classic. When the plane touched down it did so on a blanket of white.
No matter how Classic 43 ends, it has already made history before the first competition round takes place. This will be known as “The White Classic”.
If it is snowing like this in Tulsa, it can only be more extreme up in Grove, OK where the anglers will launch to fish Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees.
Water temperature will play a role, perhaps not as much as some of us expect.
And snow indicates a low pressure system which generally encourages bass to bite.
The jerkbait bite will be strong as long as water stays clear.
If the water takes a stain from melted snow and rain the next couple of days, we could certainly see the football jig take over as the dominant lure when bass lock down on hard structure.
Stay tuned. It’s going to be an educational week.
