Moss, one of the most dominant wide receivers in NFL history, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018 and has been an enthusiastic supporter of bass fishing. Moss also competed in the 2026 Bassmaster Classic Celebrity Pro-Am in Knoxville, Tenn.

Brandon Palaniuk and Calvin Johnson bring together two athletes known for sustained excellence at the highest levels of their sports. Palaniuk is one of the most recognizable competitors on the Progressive Bassmaster Elite Series, while Johnson built a legendary career as a wide receiver with the Detroit Lions before earning induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Cole Sands and Kellen Winslow will form another intriguing pairing. Sands enters the northern swing in the middle of a strong 2026 Elite Series season and is sixth in the Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings with one event remaining. Winslow helped redefine the tight end position during his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers and was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.

Robert Gee and Kevin Mawae will combine Gee’s versatile approach to competitive fishing with the experience of one of football’s most accomplished offensive linemen. Gee, a Knoxville, Tenn., native and former University of Tennessee angler, has recorded multiple Top 10 finishes during the 2026 Elite season, including fourth at Lake Murray and seventh at Lake Martin. Mawae played 16 NFL seasons and was an eight-time Pro Bowl selection before his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Tucker Smith and Ronde Barber will team up on the St. Lawrence River. Smith, a former standout at Auburn University, has continued his rise through the professional ranks and posted a seventh-place finish at the 2026 Elite event on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Barber spent his entire NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, helping the franchise capture a Super Bowl title and establishing himself as one of the premier defensive backs of his era.

John Garrett and Rickey Jackson bring together another accomplished pair. Garrett has been among the leading contenders in the 2026 Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year race and is entering the final event of the season seventh in the standings. Jackson was one of the NFL’s most disruptive linebackers during a career that included six Pro Bowl selections and earned him a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Jay Przekurat and Joe Thomas will represent a blend of young fishing talent and football greatness. Przekurat has already built an impressive résumé on the Elite Series, while Thomas was one of the most dominant offensive linemen of his generation. Thomas spent his entire NFL career with the Cleveland Browns, earning 10 consecutive Pro Bowl selections and six first-team All-Pro honors before being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023.

Justin Hamner and Dave Robinson will pair a Bassmaster Classic champion with a Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker. Hamner captured the 2024 Bassmaster Classic title on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees and has remained a fixture on the Bassmaster Elite Series. Robinson starred for the Green Bay Packers and Washington during his NFL career and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

Tyler Williams and Robert Brazile round out the nine-team field. Williams brings his power-fishing style to a pairing with Brazile, a dominant linebacker who starred for the Houston Oilers. Known as “Dr. Doom,” Brazile was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

The Pro-Am is part of a broader collaboration between B.A.S.S. and the Pro Football Hall of Fame designed to connect two passionate sports communities through competition, outdoor recreation and fan engagement. The event will be contested on the St. Lawrence River, a fishery that has become synonymous with exceptional smallmouth bass fishing and memorable Bassmaster competition.

Lippert, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of highly engineered products for the outdoor recreation and transportation industries, serves as presenting sponsor of the event. The company also joined Bassmaster during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend Fan Fest in Canton, Ohio, Aug. 5-9, with interactive exhibits and product displays designed to introduce football fans to competitive bass fishing and the outdoor lifestyle.

The Bassmaster Randy Moss Pro Football Hall of Fame Pro-Am presented by Lippert will take off from the Clayton Harbor Municipal Marina at 8 a.m. ET Monday, Aug. 31, as Hall of Fame members and Elite Series anglers begin their competition on the St. Lawrence River. The teams will return for the official weigh-in at 1 p.m. ET, giving fans the chance to see which football-fishing combination claims bragging rights in the inaugural event.

Following the weigh-in, fans can meet the competitors during an autograph session from 2 to 3 p.m. ET featuring the Pro Football Hall of Fame members and Elite Series anglers competing in the tournament.

The Pro-Am extends a full weekend of Bassmaster action in Clayton. The Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River will be held Aug. 27-30, with the Pro-Am providing fans an additional day of competition and access to some of the biggest names in fishing and football.
