Ring & Antunes from Top Ranked Montevallo Surge to Day 1 Lead at CrushCity Hartwell Slam presented by Sufix

Lopez & Boelkes from 3rd ranked UNA in 2nd, and Harris & Head with Montevallo in 3rd

ANDERSON, SC (March 28, 2026) – Day 1 of tournament competition is complete at the CrushCity Hartwell Slam presented by Sufix.  More than 280 of the top college fishing teams in the nation took out from Green Pond Landing this morning to compete on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC.  On the line this weekend, anglers are competing for over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies, as well as double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

Garrett Ring & Trace Antunes from number one ranked University of Montevallo staked claim to the Day 1 lead with a five bass limit weighing 22.35 pounds.  Trailing just over one pound behind in 2nd place are Conner Lopez & Colton Boelkes with 3rd ranked University of North Alabama.  Rounding out the Top 3 is another Montevallo team, the defending winners of the Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops…Peyton Harris & Dalton Head.

Lake Hartwell showed out in a huge way on Day 1 of tournament competition for the CrushCity Hartwell Slam presented by Sufix.  275 of the 283 boat field weighed in today.  Those 275 teams brought in a total of 1,343 fish that totaled 3,420 pounds. 258 of those 275 teams weighed in a limit.  Conditions tomorrow are looking to set up similarly to today, so anglers should continue to find the same success.
