First place, Reid McGinn had five fish for 23.80 pounds for the win. His limit was anchored with a 7.26 pound kicker. He was fishing jig on docks around the middle part of the lake. Reid’s first place finish and option pot earned him a payback of $ 810.

Gene Parker finished second with 5 fish weighing 19.83 pounds. Gene was bed fishing on the lower part and caught his fish on a Brush Hog rigged on a shakey head  and a pig and jig. Gene earned $504 with second place and the option pot.

The big fish was caught by Dean Chapman on a jig at the lower part of the lake. The 8.32 pound largemouth took big fish for the day and stands as the D-96 big fish of the 2015 season. If it holds Dean will win the ALX IKOS Series rod. Today Dean won the $135 big fish pot.

27 anglers fished this Lake Murray qualifying tournament. It was another day of light rain from beginning to end. It started out at 58 degrees and ended with the 3pm weigh-in at 61 degrees with a light wind out of the SW. Water temperature was in the high 50’s and low 60’s. Water was clear on the main lake and stained in the backs of creeks and rivers.
