Pro Charging Systems: Saluting Veterans, One Charger at a Time

As the country marks its 250th birthday, the Tennessee-based maker of Dual Pro chargers is spotlighting a program that’s quietly outfitted veterans with free, reconditioned chargers for years.

Pro Charging Systems, the company behind the Dual Pro line of marine battery chargers, wants more anglers to know about a program it’s run for years: certified reconditioned chargers, free to eligible American veterans.

The American Veteran Appreciation Program covers veterans who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard. Eligible applicants receive a free certified reconditioned Dual Pro charger, or a discount on select specialty products while supplies last. Veterans apply directly through Pro Charging Systems’ website; the company responds within 48 hours.

The program has run in the background of Pro Charging Systems’ work for years. The company has designed and built chargers from its facility outside Nashville since 1989, when it introduced the industry’s first dual-bank waterproof marine charger, and durability has been the brand’s calling card ever since.

Anglers Channel insider Danny Blandford saw the program firsthand while producing a recent video on Pro Charging Systems’ shift to high-frequency charging technology. Blandford is mid-conversion on his own boat, swapping a 12-volt lead acid system for 12/24 lithium, which left him with a legacy Dual Pro charger he no longer needed.

“My boat came factory-equipped with Dual Pro, and even as a legacy model, it still works perfectly,” Blandford said. “Instead of letting it sit on a shelf in my shop, I sent it back to Pro Charging Systems. They test it, repair or refurbish it if it needs it, and it goes straight into the veteran program.”

A retired charger doesn’t have to be e-waste, and donations are always welcome. But the program doesn’t run on donations — it runs on awareness. With the country’s 250th anniversary putting service in the national spotlight, Pro Charging Systems’ message this summer is direct: if you served, a charger is waiting for you.

Veterans can apply for the American Veteran Appreciation Program at Dualpro.com/pages/veteran-discount. Anglers interested in donating a retired charger or learning more about Pro Charging Systems’ Eagle High Frequency line can reach the company through its contact page.
