22 teams showed up for the 4th in a series of Spring Open Tournaments. The weather was great! 59 degrees in the am and 80 or so at weighin with light winds & threatening storms.

77 fish were weighed in for a good total weight of 240 pounds. Most fish were caught very shallow on a variety of baits including plastic worms, jig combos, spinnerbaits & buzzbaits for the most part. Water temps were around the 86 degree area. The bass are showing signs of post spawn routines with bucks everywhere and females resting & recouping. All in all, the bite was real good! Rick Sossaman of Oak Ridge & Randy Johnson of Hillsborough, won the event and collected $800 for 1st, $245 for 1st place TWT & 2 G-Loomis rods, compliments of Overton’s in Raleigh, worth $550 at retail, for a total of $1,595 in cash and prizes!
