Mike BlackShear Takes ABA AFT Div. 72 Win on Lake Sinclair with over 12 pounds!

 

Athens, Ala. – D72 had a great turnout of 34 anglers at Lake Sinclair on December 16th, 2018.

It was chilly morning at blast off with the temperature sitting around 27 degrees.  34 Anglers blasted off from The Little River Marina near Milledgeville, GA., but it was Mike Blackshear that brought back the winning sack.

Mike Blackshear of Macon, Ga took first with a sack of 4 fish weighing 12.88 pounds.  He anchored his catch and sealed his victory with 5.82-pound kicker.  He took home $738 for his victory.

William “Duke” Roberson of McDonough, Ga caught the Big Fish of the tournament weighing 6.58 pounds which put $170 in his pocket.

He also secured second place with 4 fish totaling 11.37 pounds and won an additional $464 for his placement
Evidently it was Duke’s lucky day, because he also won a $50 gift card drawn at the end of the tournament!

Congratulations to Jay Carter, 3rd place with 9.07 pounds, winning $197.

Joshua George placed 4th with 8.75 pounds, winning $151.

Jimmy Little came in 5th with 8.32 pounds, winning $115.

The next tournament for D72 will be on Lake Oconee, on January 13, 2018.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title.

The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the American Fishing Tour National Championship.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler.
