BENTON, Ky. (Aug. 3, 2026) – Major League Fishing (MLF) announced today that pro Chad Mrazek’s Day 1 catch from the Pro Circuit Stop 6 at Lake Champlain has been disqualified following confirmation that he competed in Vermont waters without a valid Vermont fishing license.

Mrazek was cited by Vermont authorities during the opening day of competition. He subsequently purchased a valid license and competed on Day 2.

Rule No. 2 of the 2026 Pro Circuit rules states that all pros must possess a valid fishing license for the waters they fish and that failure to provide proof of a valid license will result in disqualification for that day and any preceding days for which the license was required. MLF rules also allow officials to assess penalties for violations discovered after a tournament has concluded.

With Mrazek’s Day 1 weight removed, the event results and final Angler of the Year standings have been recalculated. Mrazek, who originally finished 34th and received $10,000, is no longer in a payout position and will return his winnings.

Pro Robby Lefere of Jackson, Michigan, moves into 40th place and will receive $10,000.

The revised Angler of the Year standings also remove Mrazek from the field for the 2026 Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit Championship. Pro Jimmy Washam moves into the final qualifying position and will compete in the championship.
