Kokopelli To Launch New Fishing-Specific Inflatable Kayak At ICAST
Packraft innovator to unveil multiple new boats for 2024.
June 30, 2023 (Denver, Colo.) — Kokopelli has been creating the most lightweight and packable packrafts, inflatable kayaks and stand-up paddleboards since 2012. This season, the brand is unveiling an entirely new boat for 2024 designed with the angler in mind, the Kaster. Be the first to see this innovative, inflatable kayak in person at ICAST along with an array of new boats and products.
“We are excited to unveil the Kokopelli Kaster at ICAST next month,” said Jeff Popp, GM and Director of Product at Kokopelli. “Our customers have been using our packrafts for fishing since our inception. With that said, we wanted to bring the brand’s unique and trusted approach to lightweight, packable and portable characteristics to the angling world with a fishing-specific platform. The result is the ultimate inflatable boat for your next fishing adventure.”
New For 2024:
• The Kokopelli Kaster is the newest product for 2024. The Kaster is designed utilizing the brands Platte-Plus inflatable kayak platform but enhanced to make it fishing-specific. It’s built like a tank with tons of features yet still weighs less than 30lbs. The Kaster features 5 Universal Scotty Mounts for rod holders and other accessories, 2000 denier PVC reinforced nylon in high abrasion areas and a high-pressure drops-stitch floor for rigidity and enhanced tracking . The boat has been widened to increase stability and will come standard with a 6-inch seat riser for improved sight lines and comfort while paddling. Like all of Kokopelli’s inflatable kayaks, the Kaster will come with everything needed to get on the water from boat, to pump, to paddles and carry bag.
• The XPD, one of Kokopelli’s best-selling boats, gets a significant upgrade for the 2024 season. The new XPD will drop nearly 4lbs of weight while maintaining the same trusted durability and maneuverability customers have come to expect from the boat. With this weight reduction comes an even smaller pack size yet a roomier cockpit. The 2024 XPD will be available in two colors, Sage Green and Granite Sand, and come standard with everything you need to get on the water, including a drybag backpack for storage and carrying, 4-piece breakdown paddle, pump, removable tracking fin and inflatable seat.
• The Utility Deck is a new product that will be launching in 2024 and intended to help the paddling world make better use of time on the water. It’s a multi-use, drop-stitch construction pad that can easily attach to the bow of boats via four attachment straps. The Utility Deck features one side of molded EVA foam for traction for a fur friend, and the other side features multi-use FidLock® and Scotty Mounts for a variety of uses.
Additionally, Kokopelli will also be exhibiting an array of other crafts for getting on the water. They include:
-
Chasm-Lite: The lightest and most packable full-size paddleboard on the market at just 12.9 lbs. Launched with the brands most successful Kickstarter to date and is now a mainstay in the brands lineup. The Chasm-Lite easily fits beneath a standard aircraft seat and comes with everything needed to get you on the water, including a carbon fiber shaft paddle.
-
Twain-Lite: New for 2023 and recently launched, the Twain-Lite is a “1.5 person” packraft aimed at packrafters who need a bit more room for gear, kids or fur friends. An extended water line and optional tracking fin enhance the Twain-Lite’s capabilities for long days on the lake, and it’s only 8.7lb. weight means it packs down to a surprisingly small size.
-
Rogue-Lite: The quintessential packraft and what essentially “started it all.” The Rogue-Lite comes in a variety of iterations and serves beginner to advanced paddlers alike. All Rogue models are built with a TPU construction. Optional variations of the models include one with a removable spray deck, and the Rogue-Lite X made of Kevlar reinforced TPU. The base Rogue-Lite weighs just 6 lbs.
-
Nirvana and Recon — The current whitewater options from Kokopelli are based on the same engineering architecture, yet constructed with two different materials that serve whitewater enthusiasts. The Recon, the burlier of the two, is made from 1000d PVC construction. The Nirvana is constructed from a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) material and is a lighter and more packable whitewater option. Both boats are available in spray deck and self-bailing models.
Kokopelli will be at the On The Water Product Demo Day event (Tuesday, July 11 from 10 am to 2 pm), where you can take one of the above craft out on the pond. In the convention center, you can find the Kokopelli at Booth 4360.
