X2Power Battery pro Jeff Gustafson becomes the first Canadian angler to ever win the Bassmaster Classic.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (March 26, 2023) – Hailing all the way from Kenora, Ontario, Canada, X2Power pro Jeff “Gussy” Gustafson becomes the second international angler ever to win the Bassmaster Classic. Running his X2Power Battery fueled Lund ProV bass boat all over Fort Loudon and Tellico Lakes, Gustafson put together a total weight of 42-pounds, 7-ounces to become the 2023 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic Champion.
After three days of intense competition against fifty-four of the world’s most talented anglers, Gustafson stuck to the same technique that won him the 2021 Bassmaster Elite Series event on the Tennessee River to earn him the Bassmaster Classic crown. Powered by premium X2Power lithium and AGM batteries, his equipment stayed performing at its highest capability from start to finish, providing him with the confidence needed to win the event.
“I can’t win any event if I’m not on the water or my boat isn’t performing at its very best. Anglers overlook batteries because it’s not flashy, but without high-performing batteries, nothing will work to its highest potential,” said Gustafson. “My X2Power batteries kept my entire rig powered up at maximum capacity which was critical in helping me win the Bassmaster Classic.”
When competing on the highest level and biggest stage in bass fishing, never having to worry about your equipment is an absolute must. Gustafson has a unique rig with his Lund ProV bass boat and knows speed is not on his side; but with X2Power batteries, reliability is. Running two Group 31 X2Power AGM batteries and three Group 31 X2Power lithium batteries – power is never in question.
“Our team at X2Power is truly proud of all that Gussy has accomplished in his career and especially this week.” said Vice President of Category Management of X2Power Batteries, Shawn Budiac. “To have our batteries powering his entire boat is an honor and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this win for him and his family.”
