Ethan Howard wins Collins Bass for Cash Youth Series on Gaston with 20.77 Lbs!!

Lake Gaston was the location for stop number four of the 2015 Collins Inc. – Youth Educational Series tournament trail. This unique series, dedicated solely to youth anglers ages 18 and under, is seeing new and returning faces alike.

Competitors and their boat captains launched at 6:00 AM from the Summit Wildlife access and returned at 1:00 PM for the afternoon weigh-in.

Ethan Howard took the top spot in the event with an impressive five fish limit tipping the scales at 20.77 lbs earning himself first place awards consisting of trophy prizes and products from The Trophy Connection, Z Man Fishing Products, Outdoor Accessories Unlimited, and Penetration Hooks. Howard also netted the single largest fish for the event, thus gaining the lunker award, presented by NC Farm Bureau agent Red Ligon, for his largemouth bass weighing 5.42 lbs. Howard focused on docks near the middle to backs of pockets where the bass were feeding on spawning sunfish. Howard alternated between a 3/8oz jig and a 1/8oz shakey head for his catches.
