The Dream Reality Series Offers Special Opportunity For Anglers
Just watched The Dream – the reality fishing show/competition on NBC Sports. Winner gets their $10,000 entry fee paid into the World Series of Bass which will take place in 2013.
The WSOB is an interesting concept based on the World Series of Poker. The Main Event will feature a $600,000 first prize and a total purse of $3,000,000. Anglers will qualify for the big tourney by placing among the top 35% in any of 3 qualifying tournaments. Competition is open to anyone with a pulse and a fishing rod, although the $10,000 entry fee presents a high barrier for many would-be competitors.
That’s where The Dream comes in. And where it gets its name from. Free entry to the a qualifying tourney.
Among my favorite competitors on the show are Allison Shaw and Matt Pangrac. I’ve met them both. They’re good people and excellent anglers. They’re currently tied for 3rd place on the program. Good luck to both of y’all!
Anybody else catch the show? What do you think?
