Denver Marine Cancels Spring Trail, Promotes Monster Bass Thursday Night Trail

The Denver Marine Monster Bass Invitational Spring Trail was canceled as of Tuesday morning when the tournament director left to pursue other interests.

“It’s just one of those things,” said Danny McCall at Denver Marine. “We don’t have time to get a new director for the spring trail. I hate it – I had a lot of time and money tied up in it, but I have to do what I have to do at this point.”

The spring trail cancellation will also cause a change in the prize package for Denver Marine’s 2013 Monster Bass Thursday Night Trail on Lake Norman, McCall said, because both trails were going to fish for a new Ranger Boat.

“Now it’s just cash prizes. Most guys would rather have the money than fish for a boat, anyway,” he said.

“We will continue the Lake Norman Thursday Night Trail with the second tournament this Thursday, March 14. We hold these tournaments the first three Thursday’s of each month and we are off the last Thursday of the month. Then we have double points for the first Thursday tournament each month.”

The Thursday night tournaments will be held out of Midway Marine from 6:30 to 11 p.m. from March through September. The two lowest scores during the season will be dropped. The championship will be held Oct. 12-13.
