Cherokee Lake Named Host for 2024 Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card Tournament
FLORENCE, Ala. (Sept. 30, 2024) – Major League Fishing (MLF) announced Sunday that Tennessee’s Cherokee Lake has been selected to host the 2024 Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine Wild Card, which will take place in Jefferson County, Tennessee, Oct. 25-26. The two-day event, hosted by Visit Jefferson County TN, will launch from the TVA Cherokee Dam Launch in Jefferson City.
In order to be eligible to fish the Wild Card, anglers must have entered all five events within a Phoenix Bass Fishing League division during the 2024 season, fished at least two of them and not qualify for a regular Regional.
Anglers will take off from the TVA Cherokee Dam Launch, located on Renfro Road in Jefferson City, at 8 a.m. ET each day of competition. Weigh-ins will be held at the marina both days beginning at 4 p.m. Fans are welcome to attend the event or follow the action online through the “MLF Live” weigh-in broadcasts at MajorLeagueFishing.com.
The full field competes both days at the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card, with winners determined by the heaviest two-day catch. The top six boaters and top six Strike King co-anglers will advance to the 2025 Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine All-American, held on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas, May 29-31, 2025, and is hosted by Visit Hot Springs and the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
There will be no off-limits period prior to the pretournament meeting for the Wild Card. No contestant may be on tournament waters for the purpose of locating bass or potential fishing waters after the start of the pretournament meeting except during tournament hours.
Entry for the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card is now open and runs through Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at 6 p.m. CT. Anglers can enter by phone at 270.252.1000 on online at MajorLeagueFishing.com.
The 2024 Phoenix BFL Presented by T-H Marine is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 128 events throughout the season, five qualifying tournaments in each division. The top 45 boaters and Strike King co-anglers from each division, along with the five qualifying event winners, will advance to one of six BFL Regional tournaments where they are competing to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American.
