CATT Lake Wateree Still Putting Out Big Bags!
Remember the days when 20 lbs would get you some big money on Lake Wateree? Well those days for now are long gone as a 20 lb bag won’t even get a sniff when it comes to a paycheck these days on Lake Wateree. I always ask the guys on the dock how did they do…a lot said they struggled and they still weigh in 18 to 19 lbs…I sure would like to “struggle”!
Wateree has really set the bar high the past 2 years….this year the average winning weight for the CATT Spring trail with the 1 CBC Qualifier included was over 26 lbs!
The only struggle David F. Canupp & David L. Canupp encountered Saturday, was toting their fat bag of HAWGS to the weigh in trough! The father & son team weighed in 5 fat and sassy Lake Wateree largemouth at 29.41 lbs taking 1st place and the BONUS $. All total they collected $3,680.00!
If you think 29 lbs blew everybody else out of the water you would be incorrect! Barry Holloman & Joey Bramlett laid the smack down on 5 bass that tipped the scales at 27.03 lbs! They also weighed in a 7.72 lb bass good enough for the LEW’S BIG BASS of the tournament. Joey was the lucky angler and took home a brand spanking new LEW”S Baitcast reel on top the BF cash. All total Barry & Joey received $1,915.00
Shawn Knight & Dustin Horne claimed 3rd with another big bass of bass weighing 25.95 lbs. They took home $1,000.00.
4th went to Wayne King & Jay Keith with 5 bass weighing 24.09 lbs and they took home $565.00.
Danny Johnson & Alan Fletcher took 5th with a limit weighing 23.17 lbs and collected $400.00.
Donald Hinson & Jeff Hatfield brought in another sack at 23.02 lbs and received $300.00 for their 6th place finish.
7th place went to Kyle McElveen and Cleve Yarborough with 5 weighing 22.42 lbs and they earned $250.00.
Donald & Paul Wells took 8th with 5 bass weighing 21.46 lbs and collected $200.00.
9ht Place went to Tracy Pope & Greg Sigmon with 5 bass weighing 21.17 lbs and they took home $200.00.
The last money place went to Bryan Holmes and Mike Ware with 5 bass weighing 21.07 lbs and they earned $150.00.
