Auburn, Alabama to Compete in Abu Garcia College Fishing Faceoff on Logan Martin Lake Presented by This is Alabama
One-day team tournament held in conjunction with MLF REDCREST 2024 in Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 6, 2024) – Next week another chapter will be added to the classic Iron Bowl rivalry… but this one won’t be on the gridiron – it’ll be on the water. The University of Alabama and Auburn University will face off against each other on Logan Martin Lake on Saturday, March 16 at the Major League Fishing (MLF) Abu Garcia College Faceoff Presented by This is Alabama.
The one-day tournament, held in conjunction with MLF Bass Pro Shops REDCREST 2024 Presented by OPTIMA Lithium in Birmingham, will feature two two-man teams from each university competing to catch as many fish as they can using the MLF catch-weigh-release format. The total combined weight of the two teams from each college will determine the winner.
Anglers will launch on Logan Martin Lake at 8 a.m. CT Saturday from Lakeside Marina, located at 4600 Martin St. S. in Cropwell, Alabama. Following the conclusion of competition at 2 p.m., competitors will then be recognized on-stage at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center at the MLF REDCREST 2024 Outdoor Sports Expo, with the winning school being announced on the REDCREST 2024 stage at 5 p.m..
