SAN ANTONIO, TX (November 4, 2026) – 2027 will mark the third year in which the Association of Collegiate Anglers, in working with the Ely family and Bass Pro Shops/White River Marine Group, has awarded the Travis Ely Memorial Scholarship.
Here are the two previous scholarship recipients:
2025: Drake Sturgill – University of Montevallo
2026: Logan Greeno – University of Nebraska
The Travis Ely Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving applicant. This scholarship honors Travis’ legacy by rewarding a college student angler for their impact both on the water and around the community.
2026 scholarship recipient Logan Greeno encompassed those qualities and displayed it through daily initiatives. He gives back to his local community through an organization which he founded, Casting to Make a Difference. The organization is dedicated to introducing youth to fishing. Casting to Make a Difference hosts events at local lakes to provide underprivileged youth in the community with an opportunity to go fishing. He is also making a lasting impact through his soft plastics company, Revived Bait Co. He works to recycle and reuse old soft plastic baits, cutting down on pollution in local waterways.
“Through mentoring youth, promoting sustainability, and competing with respect, I strive to leave both the fishing community and my local community better than I found them,” said Greeno “Fishing has given me purpose, and I want to make sure others have the same opportunity.”
The scholarship amount to be awarded has increased from past years. Previously providing a $1,500 scholarship, the 2027 Travis Ely Memorial Scholarship will award $2,000 to the recipient.
The Travis Ely Memorial Scholarship is an honor that will be awarded each year at the Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. To find out more information about eligibility criteria and apply, click here.
