Mark Rose Wins FLW on Pickwick

A little over four years ago FLW Pro Mark Rose decided that he wanted to become a better ledge fisherman. In those past four years he had honed his skills and is now considered to be one of the best offshore fisherman in th business. He proved that he is king of the ledge last week by dominating the FLW Tour event on Pickwick Lake. ” I practiced there before the cut off and found a few schools but in official practice there were guys all over them.” Mark said. “The last day of practice I went and checked a spot that I had wanted to fish but they weren’t where they should hve been.
They were deeper in a hole about 25 feet deep. I took one cast and caught a two pounder and left.” He said. He started there first thing in the morning and caught 18 of 19 pounds on a Strike King Shakey Head. He left and went to his second spot and caught two 5 pounders. ” That was more than I had expected but I knew that my first spot was loaded and that I could catch them there the next three days.” He said. Mark finessed fished his sweet spot and waited until the current started to flow. ” That’s when the big ones would bite.” Mark said. He rotated between a Strike King Football jig, a Strike King Sexy Spoon, a 10 inch Rage Tail worm, and a Series 6XD crankbait. Mark’s four day total was 77 pounds, 11 ounces. He recieved $125,000.00 for first place. Congrats to Mark on an awesome win and good luck at the Forrest Wood Cup.
