Flw Major On Beaver Will Offer Challenges
The FLW Tour Major on Beaver Lake kicks off Thursday.
The lake is at normal pool and the water is fairly clear. While Beaver lacks the bass populations found on other White River impoundments, including Table Rock and Bull Shoals, most anglers should be able to fill the livewell. Problem is, an average limit will weigh about 8 pounds. We could be in for a real dink-fest.
But there are lessons to take with us as we look back at any tournament and the toughest conditions tend to be the best teachers.
Again this week we see that a couple of big bites will jump an angler way up in the standings. How will they target those bigger bass?
Sight fishing could be a huge factor as winds diminish and daytime highs top the 80-degree mark during competition. Then again, if females don’t follow the bucks up to the bank, sight fishermen will do well to simply cut a paycheck. And its hard to say what will happen, as the wind has blown to 20 mph so far during the practice rounds.
Stay tuned.
