Hackney Takes Over At Bassmaster Elite Series On Lake Dardanelle

Day 2 of the Bassmaster Elite Series tournament on Lake Dardanelle began with a fog delay and 37 degree air temperatures. Not sure what Greg Hackney thought of the weather, but he found the fishing to his liking.

Hackney weighed- 18 pounds, 1 ounce to take a 9 ounce lead over Day 1 leader John Crews. The two anglers have pulled away from the pack by a margin of more than 2 pounds.

The big story today, though, was Zell Rowland’s 25-5 sack, anchored by the day’s big bass at 6-10, which pushed him to 3rd place with a total weight of 37-1.

Rowland’s fellow veteran Rick Clunn also made a move up the standings with 17-14 today (36-3 total) to 5th place.

Between the two legends sits red-hot Keith Combs, fresh off his record-setting performance at the TTBC. (Watch his historic weigh in here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=syoOBnwV0GU )

This week Combs has only needed 36-8 to place 4th at the half-way point in this tournament. In fact, consistency will be key for all anglers this week, as there many moves up and down the leaderboard today.
