Sykora dominates as All American heads into final day on Wilson

While the FLW Tour has been ongoing at Pickwick, the Walmart BFL All American has been taking place on nearby Wilson Lake.

And as Greg Hackney has taken a strong lead in the FLW Tour event with a 2-day total of 53 pounds, 12 ounces on Pickwick, Marcus Sykora has posted even more weight – 53-15 – over the first 2 days of the All American.

Sykora’s lead is 14 pounds, 6 ounces.

If he holds on to win on this, the final of 3 competition days, Sykora will grab a 6-figure paycheck, as may Hackney, AND he will qualify to compete with Hackney and other top pros at the Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Murray August 14-17. He will have earned that right, as most folks would not expect Wilson to perform as well as Pickwick.

But the numbers are similar for the two lakes right now:  average weight per bass is better than 3 pounds on each and 125 of 161 pros caught limits on Pickwick vs. 38 out of 49 boaters on Wilson, or about 77% in each case.

Even co-angler leader Bryan Cothran of Belton, SC has more than a pound over his FLW Tour counterpart on Pickwick (36-11to 35-8).

Both lakes are hot right now and anybody in that neck of the woods needs to go fish them.

Sykora caught his fish by 9A.M. on Thursday and said it took longer on Friday, though his Day 2 weight was heavier at 27-4.
