Our winner, Phillip Anderson of Saluda, SC, was fishing the middle part of the lake. He caught his fish on bladed jigs and spinnerbaits in shallow water.Phillip’s 5 fish weighing 16.59 pounds won first place and first place option for a total of $760.

Steve Christie of Gray Court, SC finished in second place fishing the middle part of the lake in the Buffalo Creek area and caught his fish on shad raps and lipless crank baits. Steve’s 5 fish weighing 15.68 pounds won second place and $389.

John Stevenson of Orangeburg, SC finished in third place with 4 fish weighing 15.55 pounds. He also won the Big Fish Pot with a 7.65 pound largemouth. John’s fish all came on a small crankbait fished around boat ramps on the middle part of the lake. His big fish is the new leader for the ALX Rod presented to the angler with the season big fish. John won $217 for third place and second place option pot. Will Anderson of Chapin, SC finished in fourth place with 5 fish weighing 15.50 pounds and took home $108.

The day was sunny with a SW wind at 5 to 15mph for most of the day. We started at 35 degrees and were at 69 degrees for the 3pm weigh-in. Water temps were in the low 50’s. The lake was stained to muddy and almost at full pool.

Productive lures were crankbaits and spinnerbaits, bladed jigs and spoons.
